Peninsula Daily News

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles boys golf team got solid rounds from Derek Sparks and Skyer Cobb to remain undefeated, beating Olympic 191-205 at Peninsula Golf Club on Tuesday.

Sparks shot a 45, while Cobb shot a 46 for the Roughriders at the Peninsula Golf Club on Tuesday. All four scorers for the Riders shot 50 or lower as Nate Drake and Cameron Fouts each carded a 50.

“The guys all got to enjoy a great day of golf in perfect conditions not only with the weather but the course as well,” coach Gil Stockton said.

“Peninsula is in magnificent shape. There were plenty of great shots by all the Roughriders and they should be proud of their efforts.

Leading Olympic was Chris Duckworth with a 48.

CHIMACUM — The Sequim tennis girls remained unbeaten and still have not lost a match, beating Chimacum to go 3-0 on the season.

The Wolves won Tuesday 6-1, but that one loss was a forfeit as Sequim did not have a fourth doubles’ team available.

Splitting up from her usual doubles’ partner, Kalli Wiker, Jessica Dietzman played solo in a singles’ match, winning 6-0, 6-0.

Wiker paired up with McKenna Hastings in a doubles’ match and beat Chimacum’s Renee Woods and Grace Yaley 6-2, 6-3.

Sequim (3-0) played Wednesday at home against Kingston. The Wolves will next play at Bremerton (1-3) on today.
