SEQUIM — Sequim’s Jack Shea and Alex McMenamin both repeated as the Olympic League’s boys and girls golf MVPs.

Shea and McMenamin also earned the honors, which typically goes to the golfers who post the lowest scoring averages, in 2015.

Shea averaged 35.23 strokes per nine holes in Olympic League matches, more than 2.5 strokes better than his closest competitor, Olympic’s C.J. Lagat.

Shea will play golf at NCAA Division II Montana State University Billings this fall.

McMenamin, a junior, had a nine-hole scoring average of 39.60 in league play, a full four strokes ahead of Klahowya’s McKenna Kendall.

Freshman Blake Wiker joined Shea on the boys first team. Wiker had the third-lowest scoring average in Olympic League play, 40.45.

Chimacum’s Chris Bainbridge and Marcus Bufford also made the boys first team, along with Port Townsend’s Sebastian Thomas-Anderson.

Austin Khile and Patrick Morton of Port Townsend made the boys second team, as did Sequim’s Josiah Carter.

Sequim won the boys team sportsmanship award.

Wolves sophomore Sarah Shea joined McMenamin on the girls first team.

Sydney Balkan of Sequim and Maddie Boe of Port Angeles were named to the second team.

The Roughriders won the girls team sportsmanship award.
