BREMERTON — Port Angeles’ relay teams swept Klahowya to propel the Roughriders boys swim team to a 110-47 win over the Eagles on Thursday.
“The boys all swam great with many of the new swimmers bettering times from Tuesday’s” season-opening meet, Port Angeles coach Pete Van Rossen said.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Taylor Martin, Carter Droz, Henry Shaw and Josh Krzysiak bested Klahowya by just six tenths of a second with a winning time of one minute, 57.26 seconds.
Martin, Kryzsiak, Josh Gavin and Alex Hertzog partnered to win the 200 free relay in 1:42.52.
Shaw, Alex Che, Hertzog and Gavin racked up a win in the 400 free relay with a time of 4:00.16.
The Riders also swept first through third places in the 100 free.
Krzysiak won the race in 55.59, Martin was second (55.89) and Adam Boyd third in 1:01.55.
Hertzog (1:04.4) edged the other Alex, Che (1:06.1), in the 100 butterfly with each swimmer earning a district-qualifying time.
Gavin also won the 200 individual medley in 2:13.23.

KINGSTON — The Wolves went up against a Class 2A state powerhouse in a road meet Thursday.
The Buccaneers won the 2018 state championship and were third last season.
Three Sequim swimmers won individual events.
Deven Biehler earned a victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.39 seconds.
Jesse Bobst triumphed in the 100 breast in 1:17.56.
Kaleb Needoba edged Kingston’s Charlie Near by less than half a second to win the 100 back with a time of 1:05.24.
Needoba, Will Plasch, Zen Graham and Biehler teamed for a strong second-place showing in the 200 relay. The Sequim swimmers finished in 1:45.20, behind the Buccaneers’ in 1:45.06.
Sequim (0-2) visits Bremerton on Wednesday.
