PORT ANGELES — Clallam County “12s” will get the chance today to rally for the Seahawks ahead of Saturday’s playoff game against the Detroit Lions.
The Seahawk’s 12 flag is touring Western Washington with two former Sea Gals, Jessica Irwin and Gelly Liro, and the Seahawks’ DJ Supa Sam, Shaun Samuels, and is stopping for rallies in Forks and Port Angeles today.
“We want to pinpoint where our 12s are along western Washington who want to be a part of that game,” said Luci Sanchez, marketing coordinator for the Seahawks.
The flag is the same flag the Seahawks will run out of the CenturyLink Field tunnel with on Saturday.
The Toyota Seahawks Road to the Playoffs Tour should reach Forks by about 3:45 p.m. at the high school football field at 261 Spartan Ave.
All fans in the Forks area are encouraged to attend the rally, said Lissy Andros, executive director of the Forks Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s a fun way to take part in the playoffs and do our part as 12s,” she said.
The tour is being filmed and will be shown during the quarter breaks on Saturday.
While most fans won’t be able to physically be at the game, that video is one way for 12s to be at CenturyLink Field for the Detroit clash.
The tour will then head to Port Angeles, where there will be a rally at 5:30 p.m. at Fanaticus Sports Grill at 1026 E. First St., said Marc Abshire, executive director of the Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“Anybody who is a Seahawks fan — and I think we’ve got a few of those around here — should make their way to Fanaticus [today],” he said. “If you can’t make it to CenturyLink Field, this is your one opportunity to connect with the team.
“They’re basically bringing CenturyLink field into the town and taking a piece back with them so we’ll all be represented there.”
The tour will leave Port Angeles on Thursday morning. Sanchez said it isn’t yet known where they will stop on Thursday and Friday, but urged fans to follow the tour on social media.
An itinerary will be released on the Twitter feed each morning, she said.
Fans can follow the tour on Twitter and Instagram by following “@12s.”
