SOFTBALL: Quilcene smacks Evergreen Lutheran 17-0 to advance to state; Sequim and Port Angeles rained out

QUILCENE — Sammy Rae was perfect on the mound and Allison Jones homered for the second straight game as Quilcene routed Evergreen Lutheran 17-0 in the 1B Bi-District championship game Friday.

Next up for the Rangers is their fourth straight trip to the 1B state tournament in Yakima. They placed fourth at last year’s state tournament.

Rae pitched her fourth no-hitter of the season and second perfect game.

Jones helped Quilcene’s offense get going early with a first-inning homer that gave the Rangers a 3-0 lead.

Quilcene is now 18-1 on the season.
