Doherty also combined with Seattle’s Ted De Brais to win gold in men’s doubles.

At the Westsound Games early last month, Doherty claimed silver in the open men’s singles division.

Savage, Hill and Doherty have participated in badminton tournaments throughout the United States and Canada for more than 55 years.

Hill mentored the Port Angles Junior Badminton Club for more than 20 years, winning more than 50 U. S. national titles.

She is a former multi-event national champion and succeeded world renowned coach Vern Burton, for whom the community center in Port Angeles is named.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. — The honors and accomplishments continue to pile up for recent Middlebury College graduate Alison Maxwell of Port Angeles.
