Sports: Port Angeles girls come from behind to win

PORT ANGELES — Nicole Morgan scored 15 points in the second half and the Port Angeles High School girls basketball team stormed back from a 16-point halftime deficit to win its first-round West Central District Class 4A Tournament game Thursday night.

The Roughriders (16-5) were nearly perfect in every aspect of a 22-4 third-quarter run. They held on for a 56-55 win over Skyview (14-7), the Greater St. Helen’s League’s No. 2 seed to the tournament.

Port Angeles is the Narrows League’s No. 4 seed but hosted the first-round game in the Narrows friendly format.

The Riders play Foss at 6 p.m. Saturday at Auburn High School in the second round.
