GIG HARBOR — The Port Angeles Roughriders managed only two hits in their first loss of the baseball season Monday afternoon.

The Gig Harbor Tides shut out the Roughriders 3-0 in the Narrows League game.

“In a game like this, you tip your hat and go play again,”‘ Port Angeles coach Bob Withrow said.

The Riders are now 1-1 in league and 5-1 overall.

The Tides scored two runs in the first inning and one in the fifth to walk away with the win. Gig Harbor had eight hits.

There were no errors in the well-played game.

The two teams have their second of back-to-back games today at Volunteer Park.
