PORT ANGELES — Kyle Tupper took individual honors and Port Angeles took two of the top three places but North Kitsap won the boys team cross country title in a three-way Olympic League meet Wednesday on a warm and dry day.
Tupper blew away the field by winning the 3.1-mile/5,000-meter Lincoln Park course in 15 minutes, 48.11 seconds while teammate Peter Butler was third in 17:13.11.
North Kitsap’s Ian Christen was runner-up in 17:02.55, 1:14 behind the speedy Tupper.
The Vikings, though, bunched up their runners, taking half of the top-10 places, to capture the team title with 35 points as Bremerton was second with 42 and Port Angeles third with 45.
Tony Dalgardno of Port Angeles took 11th place, followed by teammates Simon Shindler, 13th, and Hunter Dempsey, 17th.
North Kitsap dominated the girls competition by claiming the top three places and five of the best seven places to earn 18 points.
The Roughriders were back in second with 39 while Bremerton had an incomplete team with only four runners.
North Kitsap’s Reagan Colyer was first in 18:27 while the top Port Angeles runner, Elizabeth Stevenson, was fourth in 19:52.
The Riders’ Dusti Lucas took sixth place in 20:42 while teammate Annika Pederson was eighth in 21:14.
Port Angeles had four runners bunched up in 10th to 13th place, including Jolene Millsap, Willow Suess, Dasha Porter and Taylor Jones, respectively.

Charles Wright 3, Chimacum 0
TACOMA — The Cowboys battled Charles Wright Academy tight in two games but fell in Nisqually League action Wednesday night.
The Tarriers prevailed 25-21, 25-13, 25-21.
Lauren Thacker was strong at the net again for the Cowboys with 14 kills and a block.
Chimacum setter Megan Dukek had 12 assists.
The Cowboys, 2-6, next play at Cedar Park Christian on Monday.

BELFAIR — The Roughriders only dropped the No. 1 doubles match, sweeping singles with Michael Konopaski winning at No. 1 singles.
Michael Konopaski defeated Cody Champine 6-2, 6-2.
In other singles results, the Riders’ Marcus Konopaski beat Noah Wilson 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2, while Kevin Herzog defeated Jason Perron at No. 3 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles action, Brady Konopaski and Micah Needham defeated Ty Gorland and Erik Uvillar 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2; Daniel Manwell and Hayden Kays-Erdmann beat John Phillips and Mark Phillips 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3; and Jace Bohman and Nick Fritschler defeated Donny Plankenhorn and Avery Flowers at No. 4.
Port Angeles next hosts Sequim today starting at 4 p.m.
