PORT TOWNSEND — Sequim’s Jayson Brocklesby had another 30-and-over scoring day to spark the Wolves to a tie of the Olympic League championship.
Sequim dominated Port Townsend 64-32 on Thursday night and now will play fellow league-champion Olympic for the conference’s No. 1 district seed after the Trojans defeated Port Angeles 83-52 on Friday night.
The Wolves and Trojans finished the regular season with identical 15-1 league and 17-3 overall records, and now will play Monday night at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo for the right for the Olympic League’s No. 1 seed to the West Central District.
The winner gets a first-round bye and won’t play until Friday night at Foss High School in Tacoma.
The league’s No. 1 seed needs just one district win to advance to state while the No. 2 seed needs two straight victories to guarantee a state berth.
Monday’s loser plays a loser-out game Wednesday night against the seventh seed from the combined South Puget Sound and Seamount leagues at Lakes High School.
Brocklesby, meanwhile, led the Wolves against Port Townsend with 32 points on 11 of 19 shooting from the field, 9 of 13 from within 2-point range.
It was the sixth time this season that Brocklesby has made 30 or more points.
Brocklesby also had a game-high five steals.
Gabe Carter added nine points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals while Alex Barry had seven points and six rebounds.
Carter also had two blocked shots while Brocklesby and Erik Christensen had a blocked-shot each.
The Wolves held the Redskins to six first-half points, leading 21-4 at the end of the first quarter and 31-6 at halftime.

KELSO — The Indians of the SWL-Trico Division outlasted the Spartans of the SWL-Evergreen Division in the first round of the 1A District 4 tournament Thursday night at Kelso High School.
Forks’ season then ended Saturday with a 51-37 loss to Tenino at W.F. West High School. Check Monday’s edition of the Peninsula Daily News for the game report.
On Thursday, the Spartans had a slow start against the physical and taller Indians, trailing 10-4 after one and 31-15 at the break.
“Most of Toledo’s points came off turnovers, we turned the ball over a lot,” Forks coach Rick Gooding said.
“They definitely put a lot of pressure on us. They are a physical, in-your-face, get-after-the-basketball kind of team.”
The Indians took control in the second quarter by outscoring the Spartans 21-11.
“They are a good team,” Gooding said. “Their defense disrupted us.”
The Spartans had problems with Toledo’s size.
Brennan Rakoz, 6-foot-7, led everyone with 18 points while teammate Austin Trafelet, 6-5, added 12.
Grant McEwen of Toledo scored 15, second-most for the game.
Braden Decker led the Spartans, as he has done all year, with 14 points while Mark Jacobson added eight.
“Braden Decker stepped it up for us while Mark Jacobson did a good job,” Gooding said.

PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders ended their season on the losing end of a shootout with the co-Olympic League champion Trojans on Friday night.
Olympic scored 20-plus points in each of the first three quarters to light up the scoreboard and amass a 64-43 lead against the youthful Riders going into the final period.
Quentin Phillips of Olympic led everybody with 24 points while Tarence Mosely and Brian Tyson added 19 each.
Two players scored in double figures for the Riders as Derek Schumacher earned a team-high 15 points and Garrett Payton added 12.
The Trojans, 15-1 in league and 17-3 overall, move on to play a district seeding game with Sequim on Monday night while the Riders conclude their season at 2-14 in league, 3-17 overall.

BREMERTON — Already the Olympic League champions, the Roughriders won their district tournament tune-up against the Trojans on Friday night.
Port Angeles (15-1, 15-4) next plays Thursday at 7:45 p.m. in the West Central District tournament at Foss High School in Tacoma.
Krista Johnson hit a long 3-pointer with a little over two minutes to play in the game to give Port Angeles the 38-35 lead.
That would ultimately be the final score thanks to the Riders’ defense holding Olympic scoreless over the final few minutes.
There were two key moments in the final seconds.
First, with seven seconds remaining, Maddy Hinrichs dove on a loose ball and held on as Trojans star Ashli Payne tried to rip it away, thereby forcing a jump ball with the possession arrow favoring Port Angeles.
Olympic fouled with just over three seconds to play.
The second big moment came after Port Angeles missed the front-end of a one-and-one.
The Trojans grabbed the rebound and swiftly moved the ball down the court where Payne launched a 28-foot 3-pointer that clanked off the front of the rim, giving the Riders the victory.
Senior guard Macy Walker led Port Angeles with 12 points, four steals and four assists.
“Macy Walker had an outstanding overall game, scoring in every quarter and playing solid help defense,” Riders coach Michael Poindexter said.
Johnson finished with eight points and led Port Angeles with seven rebounds, while Hinrichs finished seven points and four assists and Shayla Northern had seven rebounds to go along with three points.
Mariah Frazier scored just five points, but had three steals and played a big role in the Riders’ defense.
“Ashli Payne had to work hard for her 19 points,” Poindexter said. “Mariah Frazier and Kylee Jeffers defended her well for the first three quarters.
“Down by three points after three quarters, we went into a zone for most of the fourth quarter and held Olympic to four points in the quarter.
“The group playing the zone to finish the game played solid team defense and took Olympic out of their offensive rhythm.”
After its offense sputtered for most of the second quarter, Port Angeles finished the period with an important 5-0 run.
“We got a nice momentum boost at the end of the first half,” Poindexter said.
“We were down 18-15 when Shayla Northern hit a three-pointer, and soon after Payton Lee picked up a lay-in at the very end of the half, sending us to the locker room up by two.”
Although it was a nice win to head into the playoffs with, especially since they were without starting post Bailee Jones — the Riders didn’t play a perfect game.
“Our one problem area of the game was missing uncontested lay-ins — we missed five as a team — and taking off-balance, low-percentage lay-ins — five more of those [were misses],” Poindexter said.
“Had we taken better shots some of those times and made the easy ones, the game wouldn’t have been quite the nail-biter it ended up being.”
Port Angeles doesn’t yet know who it will play on Thursday.
Because Bremerton also lost Friday — 50-46 at Kingston — Olympic finished the season tied with the Knights for second place in the Olympic League.
Due to a preseason draw, the Trojans have the Olympic League’s second seed in the district tournament, while Bremerton is third, North Kitsap is fourth and Kingston is fifth.
