Sports: Sequim easily wins first league game

CHIMACUM — Sophomore forward Kai Antrim performed a hat trick to spark Sequim High School to an 8-0 romp against Chimacum in a Nisqually League boys soccer game Tuesday.

Antrim scored all three of his goals in the first half to help the Wolves to a dominating 5-0 lead at halftime.

Luke Shearer and CJ Clark scored the other first-half goals while Noah Brasher, Clark and Mason Harwell scored one goal each in the second half.

Antrim switched to the goalkeeper position in the second half where he had a couple of saves.

The Wolves outshot the undermanned Cowboys 29-8 with Chimacum goalkeeper Justin Goularte getting five saves in the first half.

Chimacum’s Travis Cole had the best shot for the Cowboys, rocketing a free kick that hit the crossbar and just barely stayed out.

The Cowboys started with only 10 players and got their 11th after the game had already started. They had no one to come off the bench.

The Wolves, 1-0 in league and 2-2 overall, will host Foster in a league match Thursday at 6 p.m. and then will be at home against South Whidbey in a nonleague game Saturday starting at 2 p.m.
