SEATTLE — The Sequim boys team and Neah Bay’s boys and girls teams have all moved up in the latest prep basketball polls, which were released by The Associated Press on Wednesday.
A week after entering the 2A rankings, Sequim (12-3) moved from No. 10 to No. 9 in this week’s 2A boys poll. The Wolves, who are tied for first place with Olympic in the Olympic League standings, went 1-0 last week with a 51-45 win over Kingston.
The Neah Bay boys (10-1) also received their first ranking of the season in the previous 1B poll. This week, they jump two slots, from fifth to third. For the second week in a row, the Red Devils received one first-place vote.
The Neah Bay girls (10-1) have been ranked in each of the three 1B polls this season. They were fifth in the season’s first poll earlier this month, and have jumped one spot in each of the subsequent polls. This week, the Red Devils are No. 3, and like the boys team they received one first-place vote.
Both Neah Bay squads notched victories over their Crescent counterparts last week.
The Associated Press prep basketball polls are voted on by a panel of sports writers from newspapers throughout the state.
