TRACK AND FIELD: Neah Bay boys, Clallam Bay girls breeze to victory

JOYCE — The Neah Bay boys and Clallam Bay girls won the first North Olympic 1B League meet of the season.

The Neah Bay boys won four events at the Thursday meet, while the Clallam Bay girls won three events. Port Angeles track athletes also competed (their varsity scores did not count toward team scores, but freshmen were counted in some events) and the Roughriders won six events for the boys and eight events for the girls.

Neah Bay’s Cameron Buzzell won two events, the 100- and 200-meter dashes (in times of 11.91 seconds and 25.09 seconds), while Clallam Bay’s Jamari Signor won two events, the 110-meter (in 18.19 seconds) and the 300-meter hurdles (in 45.16 seconds).

Port Angeles’ Kynzie Deleon won two events, the 800-meter run (2 minutes, 42.31 seconds) and the 3,200-meter run (13:18.33). Crescent Wyatt McNeese also won two events, the shot put, with a put of 39 feet, 11 3/4 inches, and the discus, with a throw of 132-1. Clayton Willis of Port Angeles won two events, the 400-meter run (56.28) and the long jump (17-3).

Port Angeles’ Emma Albright also won two events, the 200-meter run (28.75) and the long jump (15-0).

The Neah Bay boys had 76 points to Crescent’s 47. For the girls, Clallam Bay had 69 team points to Crescent’s 49.
