TRACK & FIELD: Forks girls sweep relays at Raymond’s Pacific League meet

Freshmen lift East Jefferson athletes

RAYMOND — Red-hot relay squads picked up three victories for the Forks girls in a seven-team Pacific League meet Thursday at Raymond.

The Spartans finished fourth as a team with 90 points. Adna was first with 102, edging Onalaska 101 and Hoquiam (95).

Juniors Erika Williams, Miley Blanton, Keana Rowley and Allie Coons won the 4×100 (57.74).

Moli Luong, Natalie Horejsi, Williams and Coons took first in the 4×200 (2:10.24) and Luong, Coons, Kendall Marshall and Horejsi added a win in the 4×400 (5:25.52).

Marshall added victories in the 800 (a season-best 3:03.96) and the senior set a personal best time of 6:38.01 in the 1,600.

The Forks boys ended up fifth with 47 points. Onalaska outpointed everybody with 145 points.

Senior Joe Franklin and sophomore Noah Foster won individual events for the Spartans.

Franklin hurled the javelin 112-02 while Foster ran to victory in the 400 (56.35) and was second in the 800 with a season-best 2:25.79.

Nate Dahlgren (43-10) and Sloan Tumaua (113-11) each finished second in the shot put and discus respectively.

East Jefferson teams third

SILVERDALE — East Jefferson athletes produced third-place finishes in both the boys and girls halves of a five-team Nisqually League track and field meet held Thursday at Klahowya Secondary School.

East Jefferson boys swept the top three places in the 3,200-meter run with freshman Nico Errichetti coming in first in 11-minutes, 19.93 seconds. Atom Barrett was second in a personal-best 11:42.87 and Indigo Gould was third in 11:43.11.

Dustin Hines continued the Rivals’ long-distance success, setting a new personal record while finishing second in the 1,600 (5:01.65).

Henri Huber also claimed a victory in the triple jump, leaping 35-07.25 to edge Gould (34-0.125).

Reid Martin also was a runner-up for the Rivals in the javelin (148-06).

William Hull had the best performance of any Clallam Bay boy, coming in second with a personal record time of 48.2 in the 300-hurdles.

In the girls portion of the meet, East Jefferson totaled 48 points, back behind Klahowya 74 and Bellevue Christian (145).

Rivals freshman Abby O’Keefe broke her own personal record with a win in the 400-meter race, finishing in 1 minute, 10.62 seconds.

Elise Gardner also won the javelin for East Jefferson with a throw of 98-feet, 11-inches.

Freshmen Carina Shiflett (13.94) and Arden Mo0re (14.03) and Clara Camp (14.07) were second, third and fourth, respectively, in the 100-meter sprint.

The Clallam Bay girls put together a number of runner-up finishes.

Freshmen Liliana Scordino, Brilei Hull, sophomore Bethany McKee and junior Leyre Martinez teamed to finish second in the 4×100 relay (58.59).

Scordino came in second in the long jump (13-05.25) and eighth-grader Caydn Lee was second in the 400 meters (1:24.21).
