UPDATE — PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Where the hope is that the homecoming dances are better than the games for Port Angeles and Forks

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated to include the Saturday games, and to correct the distance of Dylan Reed’s final field goal to 47 yards.

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles lost its homecoming game 23-7 to Bremerton at Civic Field on Friday night.

The score was tied 7-7 at halftime, but the Knights scored 16 points in the second half while holding the Roughriders scoreless.

Nine of Bremerton’s points came from the leg of kicker Dylan Reed, who made field goals of 43, 30 and 42 yards.

After his first field goal, which gave the Knights a 10-7 lead early in the third quarter, the Riders had a chance to take a lead but couldn’t punch it in from inside the Bremerton 1-yard line.

The Knight found their offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter, taking a 17-7 lead on a 27-yard touchdown pass fro, Savante Perrigo to Michael Barber and then Reed added two more field goals.

Port Angeles’ lone score came on a 23-yard touchdown run on fourth down by freshman Rudy Valdez on a reverse late in the first half.

The Riders drop to 0-2 in Olympic League 2A play (1-3 overall). They next play Olympic (1-0, 4-0) on the road next Friday.

North Kitsap 27, Sequim 10

SEQUIM — A heavy dose of North Kitsap’s Cole Rabedeaux spelled defeat for the Wolves on Friday.

The elusive Rabedeaux finished with three touchdowns, the scores coming on a 36-yard screen pass in the first quarter, a 33-yard run early in the third quarter and back-breaking 54-yard scamper in the fourth quarter as the Vikings steadily wore Sequim down.

The Wolves points came on a 24-yard field goal by Thomas Winfield in the second quarter and a nifty 34-yard play-action screen pass from Nick Faunce to Gavin Velarde in the third quarter.

Sequim (1-1, 3-1) steps out of Olympic League 2A play to visit Centralia (2-1) this Friday.

Rochester 49, Forks 7

FORKS — The Spartans spotted the Warriors 21 points and never recovered in their homecoming game.

Forks (0-2, 1-3) next plays at Tenino next Friday.

Port Townsend 52, Coupeville 0

Klahowya 55, Chimacum 18
