PA Power rallies twice to edge Jim’s
PORT ANGELES — PA Power rallied from a 5-0 first-inning deficit and a four-run margin going into in its last time up to bat to edge Jim’s Pharmacy 15-14 in 12U softball play Tuesday.
Standout defensive plays were made by PA Power’s Carly Cary-DeWater, including a beautiful catch in left-center field, and an unassisted double play at third base by Ryleigh Scheid.
Katrina Gregory was 3 for 4 at the plate for Jim’s, while Kristina Shumway was 2 for 2.
Bats come out
PORT ANGELES — Local 155 swung hot bats in a pair of 12U Cal Ripken League baseball games this week.
The team dropped Laurel Lanes in a 16-10 shootout Thursday, putting together 17 hits, including four for extra bases.
It was a back-and-forth contest heading into the sixth inning, as the teams exchanged the lead nine times before a seven-run sixth inning pushed Local 155 over the top.
Thor Olson and Jeremiah Hall notched RBI singles, Colby Groves hit a three-run double and Elijah Flodstrom connected on a two-run single in the big inning.
Local 155’s Myles Bowechop, Flodstrom, James Burkhardt and Groves combined for 12 hits and 11 RBIs.
Hunter Robinson led Laurel Lanes, going 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.
John Aranda also was 3 for 4 for Laurel Lanes, and Ezra Townsend hit a two-run double.
Another big inning Tuesday against Rotary pushed Local 155 to a 13-3 win against Rotary
Local 155 broke the game open with an eight-run fifth inning on an RBI single by Hall, a two-run triple by Bowechop, an RBI single by Burkhardt, a two-run double by Flodstrom, a steal of home by Isaiah Martinez and a walk
by Groves.
Payton Collins singled and walked twice to aid Rotary, while Chastain Richards and Ty Bradow each singled and walked.
Council scores 18
PORT ANGELES — Olympic Labor Council notched an 18-11 12U softball victory last Monday at Lincoln Park.
Nacia Bohman led Olympic Labor Council’s defense from behind the plate.
Anna Menkal was 2 for 2 at the plate, while Reya Adkins added a single for Olympic Labor Council.
Maddy Belbin led the defense for Boulevard and Krystall O’Donnell added a solid hit.
